KBS refutes One Hundred Label's allegation that SM Entertainment is blocking Xiumin from appearing on broadcast

KBS has refuted the allegation that SM Entertainment is blocking EXO's Xiumin from appearing on its broadcast.

On March 4, One Hundred Label accused SM Entertainment of influencing KBS. The agency claimed that KBS has unofficially conveyed that Xiumin could not appear on programs such as KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' if SM Entertainment artists were also appearing on the show at the same time. 

One Hundred Label, stated, "KBS unofficially informed us that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs such as 'Music Bank' where SM Entertainment singers perform. Despite our continued efforts to reach out, we were ignored." The company further said, "A public broadcasting network has blocked us due to a conflict of interest with a specific agency. If this unfair situation continues, our artists will be unable to appear on music shows during the weeks when SM Entertainment artists are promoting. We regret having to deliver such disappointing news."

In response to these claims made by One Hundred Label, KBS said, "This is completely untrue, and we have been in ongoing communication with the agency." SM Entertainment has not released an official statement regarding the controversy.

Meanwhile, Xiumin debuted under SM Entertainment in 2012 as a member of EXO. In 2023, he, along with fellow members Baekhyun and Chen, left SM to join INB100, a subsidiary label under One Hundred Label.

Xiumin is set to release his second mini-album, 'Interview X,' on March 10. This marks his first solo album release in approximately two and a half years since 2022.
