Comedian Park Na Rae has drawn attention after reports revealed that a new loan secured against her home in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, was recently registered by a corporation associated with her agency.
On the 22nd, a media outlet reported that two mortgages are currently registered on the property deed of Park Na Rae’s Itaewon-dong residence. According to the report, the first mortgage was established on July 13, 2021, with Hana Bank listed as the creditor and a maximum secured amount of 1.1 billion KRW (approximately USD 830,000), which has been interpreted as a standard home mortgage loan.
A second mortgage was reportedly added three days ago. The creditor was listed as N Park Co., Ltd., known to be Park Na Rae’s one-person agency, with a maximum secured amount of 4.97 billion KRW (approximately USD 3.8 million). The stated cause on the property record was an “establishment contract,” and it was reported to be unrelated to forced execution or asset seizure.
Some observers have speculated that the mortgage may have been set up for funding purposes or as advance collateral to prepare for potential future claims. In the entertainment industry, there are cases where agencies use the personal assets of their lead artists as collateral, as it can be difficult for entertainment companies to secure large-scale funding based solely on corporate credit.
However, reports also noted that the timing of the newly registered mortgage coincided with a period when various allegations involving Park Na Rae surfaced. In response, a representative from Park Na Rae’s side reportedly stated, “It is a corporation under a family member’s name and a personal matter, making it difficult to confirm details.”
