Broadcaster Park Na Rae will serve as an MC for the Disney+ original variety show ‘Battle of Fates 49’, which has confirmed its premiere for February 11th KST.
On February 4th KST, ‘Battle of Fates 49’ announced its February 11th release date along with the unveiling of a “Fate” poster and trailer, featuring unimaginable missions and unexpected twists.
The “Fate” poster captures 49 “fate readers” from different walks of life standing in a mystical space bathed in bright moonlight, all facing a single door. Various symbolic objects tied to destiny from both Eastern and Western traditions—such as saju, tarot, and physiognomy—are placed throughout, visually bringing the show’s universe to life while raising the fundamental question, “Can humans read fate?”

The “Fate” trailer released alongside the poster also heightens anticipation with suffocating tension and unpredictable developments. From a mission to identify someone who has actually been struck by lightning to tasks involving reading the fate of money, a series of astonishing challenges appear one after another. Even the fate readers react with confusion, saying things like, “They’re giving missions like this?” The novel premise, rarely seen in existing survival variety shows, adds to the shock factor.
The Disney+ original variety show ‘Battle of Fates 49’ follows 49 fate readers as they gather to test their own destinies through various missions in a “possessed” survival competition. Jun Hyun Moo, Park Na Rae, Park Ha Sun, Shindong, and Kang Ji Young serve as MCs. The production team, known for acclaimed programs such as ‘Culinary Class War: Cooking Class War’ and the ‘Let’s Play Soccer’ series, has come together to present an eccentric survival show that aims to deliver boundary-pushing entertainment. By centering on the theme of “fate,” which draws global interest, the program is expected to open a new frontier in variety entertainment and showcase another new wave of K-variety.
‘Battle of Fates 49’ will release four episodes on the 11th, followed by three, two, and one episodes weekly in sequence, for a total of 10 episodes.
