South Korea's president Lee Jae Myung has launched his own TikTok channel.
On February 28, the president shared his new TikTok channel with an introductory video, asking viewers to "follow, like, and comment".
The move stems from the ongoing Blue House campaign to expand the Lee administration's modes of communication with the Korean masses through various SNS platforms. It also signals the Lee administration's consistent emphasis on improving Korea-China relations, as TikTok is owned and operated by the Chinese company ByteDance and is known to sport a strong Chinese user base.
