Seventeen's S.Coups x Mingyu have reclaimed the number one position on Japan’s Oricon chart.
According to the latest Oricon data released on March 2, S.Coups and Mingyu’s first mini-album 'HYPE VIBES' topped the “Daily Album Ranking.” Remarkably, the album returned to number one five months after its initial release. Their agency noted that the excitement from their performance tour, 'Double Up – Live Party,' contributed to the chart resurgence.
'HYPE VIBES' was released on September 29 of last year and has consistently received positive responses from listeners both in South Korea and abroad. The album is on the verge of surpassing one million cumulative sales.
The unit’s popularity in Japan has also been strong. The album shipped over 100,000 copies within its first day of release and earned a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
Their new release performed well across multiple charts, claiming the top spot on Oricon’s “Weekly Album Ranking” and “Weekly Combined Album Ranking,” as well as Billboard Japan’s “Top Album Sales.”
Seventeen’s new song has also made waves. The group released "Tiny Light" on February 27, which immediately claimed number one on Japan’s AWA Music “The Hot 100.”
Additionally, "Tiny Light" will serve as the ending theme for Part 2 of the Netflix anime 'BEASTARS' Final Season.
