Baek Ji Young apologizes over Coupang fresh bag misuse controversy, past “One day one Coupang” remark resurfaces

Baek Ji Young issued a public apology following controversy over her use of a reusable delivery bag from Coupang, drawing renewed attention to her past remarks about frequently using the platform.

On April 13, Baek Ji Young addressed the issue through a pinned comment on her YouTube channel Baek Z Young. She apologized for causing concern after a scene showed her taking a Coupang Fresh Bag, an insulated reusable delivery bag intended for grocery shipments, outside for personal use. She stated that she sincerely apologizes for causing discomfort to viewers and explained that her actions were due to a lack of awareness.

She further noted that she fully understands the concerns raised and confirmed that the controversial scene had been immediately removed and re edited. She added that she will take greater care when producing content in the future.

The controversy began with a video uploaded on April 12, which featured Baek Ji Young and her husband, actor Jung Suk Won, on a camping trip. In the video, Baek Ji Young was seen bringing the Fresh Bag to the campsite, prompting criticism from viewers who pointed out that the bag is meant to be returned after delivery.

As the clip spread across online communities and social media, many users criticized the behavior as inappropriate, noting that the Fresh Bag is part of a return system used by Coupang for fresh food deliveries. The bag is designed to be collected and reused, making personal use outside its intended purpose problematic. Following the backlash, the production team removed the scene and proceeded with an official apology. 

At the same time, Baek Ji Young’s past remarks about her frequent use of Coupang have resurfaced. In previous videos, she often introduced household items she purchased from the platform. When asked whether she browses Coupang regularly, she once joked, saying one day, one Coupang, highlighting her frequent use of the service.

In another video, she shared her practical shopping habits, explaining that buying items online is often more affordable than purchasing them at department stores. She also mentioned buying everyday items such as socks and storage products through Coupang.

The incident is being viewed by some as an oversight by a frequent user who may not have fully understood the usage policy of the Fresh Bag. However, the fact that the scene was publicly shared has led to some disappointment among viewers.

With a swift apology and prompt editing, attention is now on whether Baek Ji Young will take a more cautious approach in future content.
