Gong Seung Yeon reveals she accidentally hurt TWICE’s Jeongyeon before debut "It could’ve been disastrous"

BY Demian09 · April 14, 2026

Actress Gong Seung Yeon recently shared a candid and humorous story about her younger sister, TWICE member Jeongyeon, revealing that a childhood fight nearly caused serious consequences.

On April 14, a new episode of the YouTube talk show 'Salon Drip 2' titled 'Prepare to Meet the Grand Princess! | EP.135 IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Noh Sang Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon' was released. During the show, Gong Seung Yeon opened up about her dynamic with her siblings, offering a glimpse into their past.

While discussing sibling relationships, IU admitted, “Honestly, I hit my younger brother a lot.” Gong Seung Yeon responded with laughter, saying, “I hit my younger siblings a lot too, both of them.” She added, “My sister right below me is just a year younger, and whenever Jeongyeon tried to tell our mom that we were fighting, she would get hit with a phone.”

The actress also shared a shocking memory from her youth. “I once hit my younger sister in my father’s car, and he made me get out at a bus stop about three stops away. It was winter, and I had to walk home barefoot,” she recalled. She continued, “I was saying things like ‘I’m going to kill Jeongyeon’ while walking home. I was already 20 at the time,” drawing laughter from the cast.

Reflecting on the incident, she admitted, “I didn’t come to my senses even as an adult. I later reflected a lot and apologized sincerely.”

What made the story even more startling was the timing. Gong Seung Yeon revealed that the day after their fight was Jeongyeon’s debut survival show teaser shoot. “Her eye got injured, it wasn’t intentional, I just hit her the wrong way,” she explained. “I aimed for her head, but she turned, and it hit her eye instead. It would have been terrible if she couldn’t debut because of that.”

The story highlighted both the intensity and eventual reconciliation in their sibling relationship, leaving viewers amused and surprised by the behind the scenes story of one of K-pop’s most beloved idols.
