KISS OF LIFE responds to choreography backlash “We respect all perspectives”

KISS OF LIFE directly addressed recent controversy surrounding the choreography of their latest release.

KISS OF LIFE members Belle and Julie discussed the issue during a recent live broadcast, referring to criticism over the “Who is she” challenge choreography.

The choreography in question includes a sequence where two performers face each other, hold each other’s necks, and perform hip movements. Some online commenters have described the routine as overly provocative, sparking debate about its appropriateness.

Responding to the discussion, Belle and Julie explained that the performance was designed to express confidence, boldness, and an unapologetic attitude. “We understand that perspectives on what we present are not always going to be positive,” they said. “But we think it is also admirable that KISS OF LIFE continues to challenge itself despite that.”

The members added that they are open to constructive feedback, but emphasized that interpretations of dance, music, and art vary widely. “We believe those who felt uncomfortable are not wrong, that is simply how they perceived it,” they said. “It is a bit disappointing when comments become hurtful, but we still respect those perspectives.”

They also shared a broader message about self-image and empowerment, stating: “Every woman is beautiful, sexy, and perfect in her own way. There is no single correct standard. What matters most is confidence and a healthy mindset.”

Meanwhile, KISS OF LIFE’s title track, “Who is she,” reinterprets 2000s dance-pop with a modern twist, capturing the moment of artistic awakening and charisma on stage.
