GABEE Leaves Korea for London to Study Dance: “I Burst Into Tears From Frustration”

Dancer GABEE shared an update on her new life in London, England, where she recently moved to study dance.

On May 8, GABEE posted a video titled “Shin Gabee Dancer’s Daily Life at London Mini Study Abroad in England” on her channel 'GABEE GIRL.'

In the released video, GABEE arrived in London alone and documented her new challenge abroad. Upon entering her accommodation, she said, “I thought I had rented the whole house, but it turned out to be a shared space with the host,” adding with a laugh, “That explains why it was so cheap.”

GABEE explained why she decided to take on the experience, saying, “I came because I wanted to learn dance. Starting in May, I’ll be hosting a radio show, and aside from filming schedules, there aren’t many chances to stay overseas for a long time. This time, I wanted to finally do something I personally wanted to try.” She also added, “I heard the dance scene in the UK is really hot these days,” revealing why she chose England.

The dancer also opened up about recently struggling mentally. “I worked too much. At first, it was fun, but at some point, it started to feel obsessive,” she confessed. “I was exhausted, and I think the people working with me were tired too.”

She continued, “That’s why I decided to give myself time to rest. Now, I’m trying not to overwork myself or push beyond my limits.”

Later, after taking classes at a local dance studio, GABEE shared her honest thoughts. “I took hip-hop and heels dance classes, and when I watched the videos afterward, I was shocked at how bad I looked,” she admitted. “But the heels dance class was really fun and satisfying.”

However, ahead of her final class, GABEE suffered an unexpected injury. “While eating, I adjusted my posture and suddenly felt my knee twist,” she explained. “My knees have never been great, and I think continuously taking classes puts too much strain on them.”

The pain continued into the following day, eventually forcing her to give up on attending class. Tearfully, GABEE said, “I wanted to go back to Korea and dance even harder, but I feel like I hit a limit, and that makes me really upset.”
