BY Susan-Han · May 8, 2026

On the afternoon of May 8 KST, the 12th civil division of the Seoul Western District Court dismissed a damages lawsuit filed by HYBE Labels against the YouTube channel FastView

Back in 2024, HYBE Labels accused a total of 7 YouTube channels of continuously spreading false information about girl group ILLIT, and demanded damages amounting to approximately 280 million KRW (~ 200,000 USD). The 5 members of ILLIT and their agency, BeLift Lab, also pressed similar charges.

However, the Seoul Western District Court has chosen to dismiss the damages lawsuit filed by HYBE Labels, also ordering that HYBE be responsible for paying all legal fees associated with the lawsuit.

Previously, FastView posted YouTube content accusing ILLIT of copying other artists as well as mentioning specific foods for the purpose of maliciously targeting other artists.
