Jessica returns to Korean variety shows after five years with realistic sibling chemistry alongside Krystal

Jessica made her first appearance on a Korean variety program in five years, reuniting with her younger sister Krystal for playful sibling moments on 'SNL Korea 8'.

The May 23, 2026 (KST) episode of Coupang Play’s 'SNL Korea 8' featured Krystal as the host and included a skit titled 'My Child’s Social Life'.

In the segment, comedian Lee Soo Ji portrayed the mother of Krystal, monitoring her daughter’s daily work life through hidden-camera style footage. Reflecting concerns about Krystal’s extremely introverted personality, the skit showed her struggling with everyday social situations.

In one scene, Krystal stepped outside on her way to work but immediately returned home after running into neighbors. In another moment, she failed to speak up when the bus doors did not open at her stop, eventually getting off one station later instead.

The skit also humorously depicted Krystal feeling overwhelmed by crowded elevators during rush hour and only being able to handle phone calls with a prepared script. During lunch breaks, she secretly ate her packed meal in the restroom and even removed pickled radish from her kimbap to avoid making noise while eating.

Amid the chaotic office setting, Jessica made a surprise appearance as Krystal’s outgoing older sister. Unlike her sibling, Jessica confidently interacted with coworkers, asking them to look after Krystal while also scolding her for wearing her clothes, creating realistic sibling bickering that drew laughter from viewers.

Following her departure from Girls’ Generation in September 2014, Jessica has mainly focused on activities in China and overseas markets. Her latest appearance marks her first Korean variety show appearance since Lifetime’s 'Jessica & Krystal – US Road Trip', which aired in 2021.
