Actors Seo In Guk and Krystal are set to team up in a new fantasy office drama.
The upcoming tvN series, 'Office Worker Who Sees Fate' (written by Park Hye Jin, directed by Kim Jae Hyun), confirmed its main cast on June 2, revealing that Seo In Guk and Krystal will lead the production. The drama is based on a web novel of the same name.
'Office Worker Who Sees Fate' follows the story of a man born with the fate of a shaman who attempts to build an ordinary life as an office worker while navigating his destiny.
Seo In Guk plays Choi Young Hoon, a man who dreams of an ordinary life but possesses a supernatural ability: when he holds someone’s hand, he can see their fortune without any prior information. After living in seclusion from society for 25 years, he finally enters the corporate world by joining a large company, only to become entangled in hidden corruption, ambition, and internal power struggles.
Krystal takes on the role of Im Yeon Hee, a woman expelled from a chaebol family following a past incident. Born under a harsh fate that seems to make everyone her enemy, she pushes forward with determination and resilience. Despite a difficult overseas education, she has built strong academic credentials and business skills. After joining the same company as Young Hoon, she becomes aware of his abilities, and the two begin working together to confront and reshape their destinies.
The production team expressed confidence in the casting, stating that working with Seo In Guk and Krystal will create strong synergy and high character alignment with the original web novel. They also teased that the chemistry between the leads and the unique fortune-telling premise will bring both tension and excitement as the characters navigate corporate challenges.
'Office Worker Who Sees Fate' is scheduled to premiere in the first half of next year on tvN.
