BY Alec06 · May 11, 2026

Jun Hyun Moo shared his determination ahead of his upcoming football commentary debut.

On May 10, KBS’s broadcast team for the 2026 FIFA North America World Cup, consisting of Lee Young Pyo, Nam Hyun Jong, and Jun Hyun Moo, worked together for the first time during the 2026 K League 1 match between Ulsan HD FC and Bucheon FC 1995 at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

Attention was especially focused on Jun Hyun Moo, who is set to officially make his football commentary debut during South Korea’s third group-stage match against South Africa at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Introducing himself as “rookie commentator Jun Hyun Moo preparing for his first step,” he said, “It’s already been 20 years since I joined KBS, but I still have a lot to learn. I’ll do my best to contribute in any way I can.”

He added, “I’ve been closely watching K League matches and even taking notes while studying them. I plan to prepare thoroughly over the next month and deliver commentary that matches viewers’ expectations.”

Fellow commentator Lee Young Pyo also expressed confidence in Jun Hyun Moo’s abilities.

“His voice itself feels very stable,” Lee said. “He sounds like someone who has been doing soccer commentary for a long time.”

In response, Jun Hyun Moo joked, “We’re both born in 1977 and share the same zodiac sign, so our chemistry will be great,” adding, “Since our personalities are complete opposites, I think the dynamic will be even more entertaining.”

KBS plans to present a unique World Cup broadcast by combining Jun Hyun Moo’s quick wit and entertainment skills, Lee Young Pyo’s sharp analysis, and Nam Hyun Jong’s stable hosting.

The 2026 FIFA North America World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19. South Korea is scheduled to face the Czech Republic on June 12, Mexico on June 19, and South Africa on June 25 in the group stage.

Meanwhile, in the K League 1 match held that day, Ulsan defeated Bucheon FC 1995 1-0 thanks to Lee Dong Gyeong’s winning goal and goalkeeper Jo Hyeon Woo’s key saves.
