Kim Soo Hyun thanks fans, investigators one year after emotional press conference

Kim Soo Hyun has released an official statement thanking investigative authorities and fans who supported him, one year after his emotional press conference addressing multiple allegations surrounding him.

On May 27 KST, his agency Gold Medalist issued a statement regarding the various accusations, alleged evidence, and multiple legal complaints connected to the controversy.

According to the agency, KakaoTalk conversations publicly released and allegedly linked to the late Kim Sae Ron were determined to be manipulated conversations involving a third party unrelated to Kim Soo Hyun. The agency also claimed that audio recordings attributed to the actress were fabricated using AI technology.

The statement added that the seriousness of the case led the court to issue an arrest warrant against those involved, citing alleged violations including defamation through false information under the Information and Communications Network Act, stalking-related offenses, illegal distribution of filmed material, coercion, and threats.

“We sincerely thank the investigative authorities for uncovering the truth based on objective evidence,” the agency stated.

The agency also reflected on Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference from a year earlier, when the actor said, “I will not ask people to trust me. I will prove it.” According to the statement, “The past year was devoted entirely to keeping that promise.”

It continued, “The truth has finally been proven through lawful procedures and a thorough investigation. We deeply thank everyone who trusted and waited for Kim Soo Hyun.”

Kim Soo Hyun previously became embroiled in controversy over allegations that he had dated the late Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor. While he acknowledged that they had dated in the past, he firmly denied claims that the relationship began when she was underage.
