Late Sulli’s brother claims possession of 37-minute recording allegedly involving Kim Soo Hyun and late sister’s private life

The elder brother of the late Sulli has once again drawn public attention after posting a series of online statements in which he claimed to possess a 37-minute audio recording containing sensitive discussions involving several well-known figures and references to his sister’s past personal life.

On May 22, Sulli’s brother wrote on his personal social media account that he is in possession of “a 37-minute recorded phone call with my sister’s former manager.” According to his post, the recording allegedly includes mentions of IU, Lee Ro Bae, Kim Soo Hyun, psychiatric hospital treatment, SM Entertainment, and elements of Sulli’s private life during that period.

He further stated, “I have many questions I want to ask, but I am holding back thinking of my mother.” He also added, “Last year I only touched on the film briefly, but I do not intend to continue using this matter,” while stressing, “I want to make it clear in advance that there is nothing false.”

The post followed another cryptic message shared a day earlier, on May 21, in which he warned: "The moment you make a comeback, the second round begins. The choice is yours.” When a follower asked who he was referring to, he replied, “There’s someone from the star over there,” a remark widely interpreted as a reference to the popular drama 'My Love from the Star,' starring Kim Soo Hyun.

The comments have since been viewed by some as a warning potentially linked to Kim Soo Hyun’s public activities and a possible return to the entertainment industry, amid ongoing public scrutiny of past allegations involving the actor.

Separately, South Korean authorities have been investigating claims linked to the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute. According to police filings submitted to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, the suspect in the case, identified as Kim Se Eui, is accused of spreading false information regarding Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron.

The police statement reportedly noted that Kim Soo Hyun did not engage in any romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron during her minor years and that there is no evidence linking the actor to the circumstances surrounding her death. Authorities further stated that the KakaoTalk messages and audio recordings released by the channel were considered fabricated.

Meanwhile, Sulli’s brother had previously raised similar concerns in March last year regarding the 2017 film 'Real,' in which Sulli appeared. He questioned whether she had been pressured into filming explicit scenes, including nude and bed scenes.

The film 'Real' was directed and produced by Lee Ro Bae, also known as Lee Sa Rang, who is Kim Soo Hyun's cousin. The actor himself played the lead role in the production. In response to earlier allegations, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency stated that the actress was fully informed about the scenes before filming and participated voluntarily. The agency also clarified that although a body double was present on set, the individual served only as a “stand-in” for blocking and camera preparation rather than performing in the final scenes.

As public discussion continues, the latest posts from Sulli’s brother have once again reignited attention on past controversies and unresolved disputes surrounding the film and related individuals.
