NCT WISH member Sion officially earned the title of "victory fairy” for the KIA Tigers after the team secured a thrilling win at home.
On May 24, the official NCT WISH social media account shared photos accompanied by a tiger emoji. In the images, Sion is seen wearing a KIA Tigers uniform and pointing at his jersey number 1. He also proudly shows off signatures from KIA Tigers players on his uniform, while enthusiastically cheering for the team throughout the game. He captioned the post, “KIA come on.”
Sion attended the game between the KIA Tigers and the SSG (SSG Landers) held at Gwangju-KIA Champions Field, where he participated as the ceremonial first pitcher for the 'True Fan Relay First Pitch' event hosted by the KIA Tigers.
Ahead of the game, Sion shared his thoughts through the club’s official channel, saying, “I’m honored and grateful to throw the first pitch for my favorite team, the KIA Tigers, again this year. I will cheer passionately with the fans so that we can secure a win and become the victory fairy.”
On the day of the event, he added from the mound, “It makes me so happy to be able to return to the best club I’ve loved since I was young. I hope we can carry yesterday’s energy into today’s game, stay injury-free, and continue our winning streak. Let’s go, KIA Tigers!”
His passionate support seemed to bring luck. The KIA Tigers went on to win a close 3–2 victory, officially marking Sion’s first successful “victory fairy” moment—nearly two years after his initial invitation to throw the ceremonial first pitch.
This marks Sion’s third visit to the KIA Tigers’ home stadium. In 2024, his first scheduled first pitch appearance was canceled due to rain. He later returned in May of the previous year and delivered a well-received pitch after receiving guidance from pitcher Yang Hyeon Jong, though the team unfortunately lost that game.
Meanwhile, Sion continues to see strong success in his music career. NCT WISH recently made a comeback on April 20 with their first full-length album 'Ode to Love,' setting a new personal record. The album surpassed 1.825 million copies in first-week sales, making it their third consecutive million-seller.
The group also performed strongly on music charts. The title track “Ode to Love” reached No. 3 on Melon’s Top 100 peak chart and No. 1 on the Hot 100. It later ranked No. 26 on the daily chart and No. 30 on the weekly chart, marking their highest achievements to date. The group also achieved their first-ever sweep of No. 1 on all three major Korean terrestrial music shows.
