SEVENTEEN’s THE 8 and Vernon launch new unit V8

SEVENTEEN members The8 and Vernon have officially formed a new unit called V8.

According to Pledis Entertainment on May 28 KST, the unit name combines The8’s “8” and Vernon’s “V.” The agency explained that the name symbolizes the duo’s unstoppable drive and creative energy, inspired by the powerful acceleration of an eight-cylinder engine.

The response from fans has already been explosive. Social media has been flooded with photos featuring “V8” signs hidden in everyday life, along with hand gestures shaped like the letters “V” and “8.” The trend was fueled by the “V8 HUNT” challenge, which ran for about a month beginning on April 27.

V8 is also preparing to maintain momentum through live performances following the album release. '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE' will take place on July 11 and 12 at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, followed by shows on July 18 and 19 at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong.
