Super Junior's Leeteuk updated fans after being involved in an unexpected car accident.
On May 30 KST, Leeteuk shared via his Instagram,
"I know I told you about the accident briefly through Bubble, but here's the full story and the current situation.
After I concluded my activities as a Porsche ambassador in Korea, I decided to purchase the Taycan GTS.
At the time of purchase, which was just 2 weeks after I finished filming all promotional content, the car was brand new, completed with a PPF job and with barely 800 km.
I didn't even peel off all the protective film when someone outright rear-ended me on the highway. It felt like someone slammed my entire body with a hammer.
The rear was significantly damaged, and the full cost of repair will come out to almost 14 million KRW (~ 9,300 USD). Truthfully, I'm terribly upset that my brand new car has become an accident vehicle just like that. I'm also experiencing significant neck and back pain from the hit and am receiving physical therapy everyday.
I was in such a defenseless state at the time that it gave me quite a lasting shock.
There's just a lot on my plate right now with preparations for the new album and tour, broadcast promotions, and caring for Koongie (Leeteuk's dog who was recently diagnosed with pulmonary edema). It's honestly a handful for me to juggle all of this, especially the accident, without outside help, but I'll be sure to take care of everything, just like I always do.
Because there was an error with the original order, it took a while for me to actually receive the car. But then as soon as I got the car, Koongie got sick and I got in an unexpected accident. I think this car and I maybe weren't meant to be. Even if it costs me, I intend to sell it as soon as the repairs are done.
If anyone's interested, please contact me."
He also shared photos of the new car at the time of purchase and immediately after the accident, further expressing his frustration.
Meanwhile, Leeteuk is set to greet fans in the new Super Junior unit 83z along with fellow 1983-line member Heechul soon, embarking on their '2026 83z Fancon Tour' in July.
