
Taeyang has proven his global popularity once again, climbing to the top ranks of major international charts with his latest release.
Taeyang released his second EP, 'QUINTESSENCE,' on May 18. The album unveiled 10 new tracks, including the title song “Live Fast Die Slow.”
The album performed strongly across various charts. Immediately after release, it debuted at No. 5 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and remained in the Top 10 at No. 6 on the May 19 chart update.
The release also captured the attention of listeners worldwide, reaching the Top 2 in 15 countries and regions. Among them, it topped the charts in nine regions, including Japan, Thailand, Denmark, and Mexico.
The music video for the title track also drew strong reactions, ranking No. 1 on YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide and No. 9 on China’s QQ Music Korea Music Video Chart.
Through the new EP, Taeyang musically portrays a journey toward discovering life’s most important values. He hoped the personal questions embedded in the project would resonate deeply with listeners.
“Live Fast Die Slow” conveys the message of maintaining one’s identity amid the fast-moving pace of reality. The song reflects a determination to keep moving forward despite not knowing what lies ahead.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG, the group Taeyang belongs to, will launch a world tour beginning in August to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut.
