Winter of aespa has addressed online rumors about the origin of her newly adopted dog. The idol set the record straight during a live broadcast on a fan platform on June 23.
When fans asked about her dog's adoption, Winter explained that the puppy came from a shelter. She shared that the dog had originally been at an auction and was at risk of being sent to a breeding facility after no one bid on it.
A shelter stepped in to rescue the puppy, and Winter ultimately took it home.
Winter first introduced the dog to fans on June 18 by posting photos on social media. However, some online communities began speculating that the young purebred-looking pup may have been purchased from a pet shop rather than adopted.
Her candid explanation put the rumors to rest, confirming the dog was adopted through an animal shelter. Fans praised Winter for choosing adoption and for being open about the process.
