CORTIS energizes fans at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square during World Cup Watch Party

BY K-Soul · June 12, 2026

CORTIS, one of K-pop’s fastest-rising acts, took the stage at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square as fans gathered to support South Korea during the country’s first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

BigHit Music announced on June 11 that CORTIS would participate in the “2026 FIFA World Cup Street Cheering Event” as a special guest performer. The event was held at Gwanghwamun Square on June 12 and was organized by the Korea Football Association and KT Corporation.

During the event, CORTIS performed its hit song “REDRED” alongside the Red Devils, the official supporters’ group of the South Korean national football team, energizing the crowd gathered at the square.

Ahead of the event, the group had encouraged fans through Weverse to wear red clothing and bring cheering items to support the national team.

CORTIS is a five-member boy group launched by BigHit Music, marking the label’s first new boy group in approximately six years since TXT. The group’s name was derived from the phrase “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” reflecting its mission to break away from conventional standards and embrace creativity without limits.

The group consists of James, a Taiwanese member, along with Martin, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho. The members have been involved in songwriting, composition, choreography, and video production since before their debut, contributing to projects for senior artists under HYBE Labels.

CORTIS officially debuted with a showcase on Aug. 18, 2025. Their first mini album, 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' was released on Sept. 8 of the same year and drew attention for featuring songwriting and production credits from all five members.

The group later pre-released the single “REDRED” on April 20 before returning with their second mini album, 'GREENGREEN,' on May 4, further showcasing their evolving musical identity.

Following the Gwanghwamun performance, CORTIS was scheduled to launch its first solo world tour, “2026 CORTIS TOUR,” with concerts at the Inspire Arena on July 18 and 19. The group was also set to celebrate its first anniversary with shows at the Hwajeong Gymnasium in August before continuing the tour at the Pia Arena MM in September.
