CORTIS has continued its rapid rise, earning its third song to surpass 100 million streams.
According to Spotify’s latest chart update on June 16, the title track “REDRED” from the group's second mini-album has exceeded 100 million cumulative streams on the platform.
The milestone was achieved just 57 days after the song’s release. CORTIS pre-released “REDRED” on April 20, and the track quickly gained popularity for its distinctive melody and memorable lyrics.
With the achievement, CORTIS now has three songs with more than 100 million streams. Tracks “GO!” and “Passion” from the group's first mini album both crossed the 100 million-stream mark in January.
“REDRED” also set a new personal best for the group. Their previous fastest song to reach 100 million streams was “GO!,” which achieved the milestone in 116 days. “REDRED” cut that record in half.
The song uses the color green to represent the direction CORTIS hopes to pursue, while red symbolizes what the group seeks to avoid. It is characterized by rough electronic sounds and a catchy beat.
“REDRED” topped major music charts, including Melon, Bugs, and Spotify Korea. It was also the only boy group comeback released this year to reach No. 1 on Melon’s weekly chart.
Meanwhile, CORTIS is preparing for its first solo tour, 'Put Your Phone Down.' Both the Incheon and North American stops sold out during the membership pre-sale phase.
