Hyoyeon’s past marriage comments resurface after Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho split

Following the reported end of the long-term relationship between Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho, comments previously made by fellow Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon have resurfaced online.

On June 9 KST, representatives for both Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho confirmed that the couple had ended their romantic relationship and decided to remain supportive colleagues. The news marked the end of one of the entertainment industry’s most well-known long-term relationships, drawing widespread attention from fans and the public.

In the wake of the announcement, viewers revisited an episode of the tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' that aired last month. During the program, Hyoyeon appeared alongside fellow Girls’ Generation members Yuri and Sooyoung and spoke candidly about marriage and family plans.

At the time, Hyoyeon mentioned fellow member Tiffany Young’s marriage and joked that someone in the group had to “open the door” first. She also shared her desire to eventually have children, saying she still dreams of having a large family.

When asked who might be the next member to get married, Hyoyeon confidently replied that she believed she would be next, explaining that she likes to speak positive things into existence.

Although the remarks were initially viewed as lighthearted variety-show banter, some online users have revisited the comments following Sooyoung’s breakup. A number of fans have speculated whether Hyoyeon may have already been aware of changes in Sooyoung’s relationship at the time, though there is no evidence to support such claims.

Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho began dating in 2012 and publicly confirmed their relationship in 2014. Over the years, they were widely regarded as one of Korea’s most enduring celebrity couples before ultimately deciding to go their separate ways after 14 years together.
