Kim Nam Gil enters criminals' dreams in special teaser for upcoming drama 'Nightmare'

Kim Nam Gil is set to enter the dreams of villains in his upcoming drama 'Nightmare.'

On June 17, SBS released a special teaser for its new drama 'Nightmare' (written by Kim Gyu Won and directed by Lee Dan). The preview opens with narration from the series’ protagonist, Kim Tae Yi, played by Kim Nam Gil.

Kim Tae Yi is a detective who returns to the Southern Police Station after spending years working undercover. Frustrated by a reality where crimes and accidents continue to occur without anyone being held accountable, he becomes determined to seek justice.

As a result, a vigilante group emerges, targeting criminals not by sending them to prison but by trapping them in nightmares. Tae Yi hints at what is to come with the chilling line, “We’ll find you — in your dreams.”

'Nightmare' is a crime investigation drama centered on a unique form of justice. The story follows a detective and a nightmare designer who work together to punish criminals who cannot be brought to justice through conventional means.

The series has drawn significant attention as Kim Nam Gil’s next project. The actor previously won the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the SBS Drama Awards for his performances in 'The Fiery Priest' and 'Through the Darkness.'

The production team stated, “Kim Nam Gil will open a new chapter in cathartic revenge dramas as he moves between dreams and reality,” adding, “Viewers will also discover a story that explores deep humanity and what lies beyond it.”

'Nightmare' is scheduled to premiere next year.
