BY K-Soul · June 1, 2026

As Kim Soo Hyun was cleared of what fans described as false accusations, supporters from around the world flocked to his social media account all at once. Kim Soo Hyun’s last post was uploaded on February 12, 2025, and his account has remained inactive for a staggering 474 days.

The number of comments quickly surged to 1.12 million. Fans left various messages of support, including “I trusted you until the end,” “The truth has finally been revealed,” “Come back with confidence,” and “You must have suffered so much.”

Previously, the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant on May 26 for Kim Se Ui, the head of HoverLab (Garo Sero Research Institute), on charges including violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, such as distributing illegally filmed content, as well as defamation.

Kim Se Ui is accused of repeatedly spreading claims and related recordings alleging that the late Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun while she was still a minor.

He is also accused of severely damaging Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation by allegedly using generative AI technology to manipulate the late actress’s voice and spread false information.

In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist released an official statement on May 27, stating, “The investigation confirmed that the various allegations and evidence raised by HoverLab (Garo Sero Institute) were not true.”

The agency added, “The court issued the arrest warrant after recognizing the seriousness of charges, including defamation, violations of the anti-stalking law, and threats,” while also expressing gratitude to investigative authorities for uncovering the truth through objective evidence.
