MC Mong affair admission texts with Cha Ga Won exposed on ‘PD Note’ amid gambling debt and unpaid artist settlement controversy

BY Demian09 · June 3, 2026

Allegations surrounding rapper-producer MC Mong and One Hundred Label Chairman Cha Ga Won have resurfaced following the release of purported text messages during a recent investigative television broadcast.

On June 2, MBC's current affairs program 'PD Note' aired an episode titled 'MC Mong and the Chairman’s K-Pop Business Secrets,' revealing messages allegedly connected to long-standing rumors of an extramarital relationship between the two figures.

During the broadcast, a businessman identified only as Mr. A, who was introduced as Cha Ga Won’s uncle and the head of a major construction development company, disclosed a mobile message that he claimed to have received from MC Mong.

According to the message presented on the program, MC Mong allegedly wrote: “I was in a relationship with Ga Won. Three years ago, she asked me to date her, and after much consideration, I agreed.”

The message further stated: “Although she was married, she told me she would get a divorce. I was grateful for how much she cared for and protected me.” The text also contained an alleged admission regarding gambling activities, stating: “I gambled, and I gambled together with Cha Ga Won. Ga Won also paid off some of my gambling debts.”

Mr. A additionally claimed that MC Mong later visited him in person and acknowledged being in a relationship with Cha Ga Won. According to Mr. A, MC Mong allegedly threatened to publicize the matter through the media.

However, both Cha Ga Won and MC Mong have firmly denied the affair allegations. Their representatives have previously dismissed similar claims and described the messages cited by media outlets as “fabricated” or “manipulated materials.”

MC Mong has also strongly objected to the 'PD Note' broadcast and reportedly plans to pursue legal action against the producers, seeking damages amounting to approximately 100 billion KRW (around 72 million USD).

The controversy has expanded beyond personal allegations and into broader concerns regarding financial management at One Hundred Label. Critics and industry insiders have raised questions about whether company resources were improperly used for personal purposes. Allegations have also emerged regarding delayed or unpaid settlements affecting artists, employees, and business partners associated with the company.

Several high-profile artists connected to the label ecosystem, including Lee Seung Gi, Lee Mu jin, members of The BoyzBaekhyun, and other affiliated artists, have been mentioned in public discussions concerning settlement and management disputes. Industry sources claim that artists, staff members, and entertainment professionals who worked with the company have suffered financial losses due to delayed compensation.

At present, the allegations regarding the affair, gambling activities, and financial misconduct remain disputed. No court has made a final determination regarding the claims presented in the broadcast. The parties involved continue to maintain conflicting accounts, and further legal proceedings are expected to clarify the facts.
