RESCENE among 10 K-pop acts selected for South Korea’s global expansion program

BY K-Soul · June 16, 2026

RESCENE is set to expand its overseas activities with support from the South Korean government.

On June 16, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced its plans for the "Global Leap Support Program for Small and Mid-Sized Entertainment Agencies," an initiative designed to help independent K-pop companies enter international markets.

A total of 10 teams were selected for this year's program, including RESCENE, xikers, TUNEXX, Kiiras, Can't Be Blue, 82MAJOR, Big Ocean, USPEER, X:IN, and 8TURN.

The ministry selects 10 entertainment agencies each year and provides approximately 300 million KRW (about 220,000 USD) in annual funding. Agencies that demonstrate strong results may continue receiving support for up to three years following additional evaluations.

Unlike previous government assistance programs, which were often limited to specific areas such as album production, the new initiative allows companies to allocate resources according to their own business strategies and operational needs.

Through the program, the selected artists will pursue activities in overseas markets. RESCENE plans to capitalize on the growing popularity of its viral "Geoje Yaho" trend and connect with global fans through promotions in Japan and the United States.

Meanwhile, Xikers will focus on expanding its presence in Japan, TUNEXX is preparing performances in Mumbai, India, and KIRAS is planning a showcase in Malaysia along with fan meetings across Asia.
