Taeyeon of Girls' Generation is set to put her own spin on Japanese singer-songwriter tuki.'s mega-hit "BANSANKA" with a Korean remake. According to SHgold Networks on June 23, the new track drops June 29 as the debut release for the 'J-POP REMAKE' project.
The 'J-POP REMAKE' project aims to breathe new life into beloved Japanese songs through reinterpretations by top Korean artists — preserving the originals' sentiment while infusing each performer's unique color.
SHgold Networks also unveiled teaser images hinting at the song's dreamy atmosphere. Illustrations of an apple on the road, a hand shadow, clasped hands, and two girls running capture the warm, wistful narrative that made "BANSANKA" a phenomenon.
As one of Korea's leading female solo artists, Taeyeon is celebrated for her distinctive vocal tone and powerhouse singing ability. She debuted with Girls' Generation in 2007 and launched a wildly successful solo career in 2015 with her first mini-album 'I', going on to release a string of hit songs that cemented her status as a vocal queen.
The project team expressed excitement over how Taeyeon will reinterpret tuki.'s original with a uniquely Korean emotional depth. Following "BANSANKA," the 'J-POP REMAKE' project plans to continue pairing Korean artists with more Japanese mega-hits.
