Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon are surprising fans waiting for them during their military service.
On April 3 KST, JYP Entertainment unveiled a new YouTube video of the three DAY6 members performing a cover of "Bonfire," a song originally released by Norweigan singer/songwriter Peder Elias back in 2019. In the clip, Young K plays guitar as he and Wonpil trade off vocals, and Dowoon adds percussion by playfully drumming a rhythm on his seat.
The cover is the latest installment of Young K's ongoing cover series 'YOUNG ONE.' Previous songs he has covered for the series include Ruel's "Face to Face," Khalid's "Talk," MAX's "Love Me Less," Bazzi's "I.F.L.Y," Lukas Graham's "Love Someone," HONNE's "Day 1 ◑," Coldplay's "Everglow," and Bruno Major's "Nothing."
Meanwhile, all four DAY6 members are currently serving in the military, with Sungjin enlisting in the army on March 8, 2021, Young K enlisting in KATUSA (Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army) on October 12, 2021, Dowoon enlisting in the army on January 17, and Wonpil enlisting in the navy on March 28. All four members will have completed their service when Wonpil finishes his service on November 27, 2023.
