Girl band QWER is gearing up for their Japanese debut with a powerful new sound, releasing a music video teaser for "SHOW DOWN," the opening theme for the anime 'Tomb Raider King.'
The group dropped the teaser on its official YouTube channel on July 6 at 12 p.m. KST. In the video, members Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon are seen in a foggy, ruin-like setting, dressed in all-black attire. The visuals present a chic and charismatic aura, marking a 180-degree departure from their previously known refreshing image.
Accompanied by a powerful guitar riff, the members deliver a dynamic and energetic band performance. The fast-paced editing and dramatic visuals have heightened anticipation for the full music video, which is scheduled for release on July 8.
"SHOW DOWN" is not only QWER's first anime OST but also their official Japanese debut song. The track is described as a fast and explosive rock song with lyrics about forging one's own path without regard for others' opinions in a world full of pretense.
Furthermore, QWER also participated in the anime's ending theme, "To Be Continued," contributing vocals and working on the sound production. This dual role highlights the group's growing popularity and buzz within the Japanese content market even before their formal debut.
QWER formed in July 2023 and debuted in October of the same year, releasing beloved tracks such as "T.B.H," "My Name is Malguem," and "Manito."
