Kim Se Hoon will not be debuting as a member of C9BOYZ.
For the past few weeks, C9 Entertainment has been revealing profiles of their new boy group members. Following the release of Kim Se Hoon's profile photo and video, several netizens claimed Kim Se Hoon was part of school violence.
C9 Entertainment announced to look into the issue, then on April 2, the agency announced their final decision to exclude Kim Se Hoon from C9BOYZ.
The agency stated, "We did confirm Kim Se Hoon engaged in actions that a student shouldn't have engaged in when he was in the second year of middle school. However, it's also true that many posts have turned out to be false or exaggerated."
Breaking windows, damaging school ceiling, throwing chairs, and more were not actions done by Kim Se Hoon alone but by a group of students that included Kim Se Hoon, according to C9 Entertainment. Kim Se Hoon also did not participate in all of these violent acts.
The teacher of the time also testified that Kim Se Hoon was not a student leading school violence and the issue "is not worth getting this big." However, after a discussion with Kim Se Hoon, his parents, and members, Kim Se Hoon decided to step down from the debut group and reflect on his actions.
Lastly, C9 Entertainment announced they will be taking legal action if false information continues to spread regarding Kim Se Hoon.
Meanwhile, C9BOYZ will be debuting as a group of 5 with Bae Jin Young, Seunghun, Hyunsuk, and Yonghee.
