Almost five days later, as of August 19th, Jimin's post still remains the most liked (172.7k) and retweeted post (61.7 k retweets and 21.6k quote tweets), proving the grip that he has on fans with his mesmerizing visuals.


In a different scenario, K-media published an article on how K-pop idols have become key figures in promoting Korean culture to the rest of the world.
BTS' 2018 MMAs 'IDOL' performance is specifically referenced whereby the group used their country's culture, concept, and costumes in their performance of the song. Jimin's image for his solo dance has been used in this publication to represent BTS' performance, and it shows the weight attached to him and his performance as a representative of Korean culture to the world.
It is worth remembering that Jimin particularly became a hot topic during and after this performance for his solo traditional Korean fan dance. Being such a famous and highly revered idol, it is expected that any item associated with Jimin will attract high levels of demand from consumers. This aspect has been demonstrated time and again by the number of times his clothing, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories have gone out of stock in different stores within hours or even minutes or seconds of him being seen with the item, irrespective of the price tag.
The case was no different for his self-designed merch like his hoodie and earrings that even caused the Weverse shop servers to crash due to the high traffic volume to the platform immediately after the items went up on sale. This time, Jimin's self-designed BT21 character 'Chimmy' is also showing its overwhelming popularity, just as it has been since the character came to be. On a post made on August 18, fans noticed that only the 'Chimmy' merch was sold out in a store in Japan.
This did not only happen this time, but it has always been the case. Jimin is absolutely loved and adored in Japan, and his merch is always out of stock, as seen from tweets from other fans who previously visited Japan's Line store for the merch but could not get any as everything associated with Chimmy was out of stock. Moreover, this is not only in Japan but in many other online stores as well. 'Chimmy' always ranks as the 'best seller' and will hardly be in stock, all thanks to Jimin's brand power.

Known as a 'vocal king' owing to his unique vocal tone and color, Jimin's solo songs always receive an overwhelming amount of love and support from the public, and 'Filter' from BTS' MOTS:7 album is a perfect example of his power as a soloist.
Presently, the song holds the record as the most streamed solo song from the MOTS:7 album on Spotify despite being a B-side track with no promotions. It also holds the record as the most streamed solo song by an idol group on Melon and is the only solo song ranking in the top 10 most streamed BTS B-side tracks on Melon. Additionally, it is the B-side track with the most #1s on iTunes, having attained #1 in 117 countries so far. The popularity of the song is undeniable.
These impressive records can be seen in reality from how the public loves the song. On August 14, 'Filter' was heard playing in the background of a concert held by another idol group, 'Stray Kids.' What is more, one of the group's members, Hyunjin, was seen dancing to the song, and fans noticed that he was doing the exact choreography that Jimin did during a BTS online concert back in 2020. Jimin's popularity was also in full force, as seen from the amount of attention he received during promotions for 'Bad Decisions' from Benny Blanco and also from US radio stations. He is, in fact, called the 'US media darling' because these radio stations always post pictures of him and praise him even when there is no special event happening.
