Nadine Lustre is a renowned singer and actress hailing from the Philippines, who is known for her music hits such as "Bahala Na" and "No Erase," as well as her notable dramas 'Diary ng Panget' and 'Talk Back Your Dead.' Now, she's back with a new release 2 years after her last single, titled "Own It."
OVERGROWN
"Overgrown" is her first release with WILD Entertainment, home to Sorn and Seungyeon, and it's an alternative pop track that features striking beats and synth elements. Through "Overgrown," the 29-year-old pays homage to her 20s and to all the challenges she has overcome during her long-standing musical and acting journey.
"I'm turning 30 in October, and it’s a big thing for me," expressed the singer in an exclusive interview with allkpop. Nadine mentioned that she really didn't think about the message she wanted to deliver to the listeners, but rather told more about her experience in hopes that the audience could relate to it in a way.
Drawing inspiration from Siargao, the province where Nadine initially wrote the song, "Overgrown" captures the environment that Nadine wishes to transport her audience to. It's a song that reflects her vision, exuding a genuine ambiance.

NEW BEGINNINGS
On working with WILD Entertainment for the first time, she said that she had a great experience with the team and that the process for "Overgrown" was smooth. "I didn’t expect us to have a good connection on day one," she added, saying that it took them a while before they got the topic down. "But as soon as we did, it was free-flowing."
Penned by the singer herself, along with singer-songwriter Linying and producer Josh Wei, "Overgrown" showcases Nadine's keenness to explore and experiment with the song's words and melodies.
Nadine believes that one of the reasons they took a while to prepare the music is that she hasn't worked on a song in a long time. "I was struggling in the beginning," she confessed.
SECRET BEHIND SUCCESS
As one of the most successful actresses and singers in the Philippines, Nadine shared that, between the two industries she's in, it's unusual shifting between doing acting and singing as these two fields are vastly different. "I get a different rush when I'm acting compared to when I'm performing on stage," Nadine explained.
When asked the one big thing she has learned throughout his career, she replied, "I’ve learned in the early stages of my career to always give your 110% on everything." She continued, "And I still do it."
One thing that Nadine considers the reason behind her successful career is that she always keeps feeding that fire in herself.

DREAM COLLAB
Nadine names South Korean rapper and singer, DPR Live as the artist in the Korean music industry she would like to collaborate with if given the chance. She enthusiastically exclaimed, "I'm a huge fan of DPR Live!" She added, "I don’t even know if we could work in a collab, but I think that would be a cool experiment."
