According to an exclusive media outlet report on March 1 KST, Seventeen's leader S.Coups has received exemption from his mandatory military service duties.
S.Coups, who recently underwent a physical examination in order to receive his mandatory service assignment, was declared fully exempt from service due to his recent injuries. He will not be required to carry out public service duties.
Previously in August of 2023, S.Coups suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee during a filming schedule. The injury required surgery and extended treatment, forcing the Seventeen member to halt all of his promotional activities.
S.Coups has made limited public appearances since then, focussing on his recovery. Then, recently on February 23, Pledis Entertainment announced that S.Coups's condition has improved significantly, and that the idol would resume his schedules so long as they do not require excessive physical activity beginning in March.
Meanwhile, Seventeen plan on returning with a new album in April.
[UPDATE] Pledis Entertainment has confirmed that S.Coups has received level 5 exemption from his mandatory military service duties, meaning that he is fully exempt from conscription unless the country enters a state of war.
