"Contestants as young as five years old," PD of 'UNDER15' explains her vision for the show

Seo Hye Jin, the head of CReA Studio, has unveiled the first broadcast schedule for MBN's 'Under15.'

'Under15' is a global audition show aimed at discovering the next generation of K-pop prodigies under the age of 15. 

59 young talents, selected from over 70 countries regardless of race, nationality, or genre, will showcase their visuals, performance skills, and vocal abilities in hopes of securing a spot in the industry. The show is set to premiere on March 31.

On March 10, CReA Studio’s channel uploaded a video revealing the profiles of all 59 contestants, along with clips featuring some of the participants, sparking widespread discussion online.

Previously, in an interview in June 2024, Seo Hye Jin spoke about 'Under15.' At the time, she shared her vision of creating a versatile girl group, stating, "I dream of creating a group like BLACKPINK with minors.”

She elaborated, saying, "I envision a girl group consisting of four to five young members. The same old girl group formula just doesn’t work anymore. Typically, agencies plan and create girl groups, but we want to tailor our approach to meet the needs of the audience while incorporating CReA Studio’s distinct style."

Producer Lee Guk Yong, who also participated in the interview, hinted at the formation of the youngest-ever girl group, revealing, "Contestants as young as five years old are appearing in the audition."

Lee Guk Young further explained, "Our audition process thoroughly verifies each contestant. Countless kids are appearing in short-form videos of 10 to 30 seconds, but we are looking to find the real stars among them."
