A scene from 'Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition' has sparked heated debate online.
In the May 24 KST broadcast, cast members Choi Woo Sik, Park Seo Joon, and Jung Yoo Mi were shown traveling from Gwangju to Jeju Island.
While waiting at a bus stop, the trio shared a “Dubai chewy cookie” gifted by a fan. Choi Woo Sik first took a bite before passing it to Park Seo Joon, who then handed it to Jung Yoo Mi.
After eating the snack, Jung Yoo Mi casually wiped the cocoa powder from her hands onto the jacket Choi Woo Sik was wearing. It was later revealed that the jacket actually belonged to producer Na Young Seok.
Following the broadcast, viewers became sharply divided over the moment.
Some criticized the action, arguing that it felt disrespectful even between close friends. Others defended the actress, saying it was simply harmless joking between longtime friends.
However, a large portion of online reactions leaned negative, with some viewers describing the behavior as inconsiderate rather than quirky or playful.
“Even if they’re close, that’s hard to understand,” one comment read, while others questioned whether the cast’s “free-spirited” chemistry had crossed a line.
Meanwhile, ‘Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition’ follows three celebrities navigating unpredictable travel situations across Korea while embracing unlimited romance and adventure despite various restrictions.
The program premiered with a nationwide rating of 3.7 percent according to Nielsen Korea, but recently dropped to 2.9 percent.
