Singer Kim Heechul (Super Junior) opened up about his decision to join the new dating reality show 'Love War' while on a temporary hiatus from JTBC's 'Knowing Bros'. He shared concerns about potential criticism for taking on a new program during his break.
During the online production presentation for 'Love War' held on June 23, Kim Heechul, alongside fellow MCs Lee Hyori and Seo Janghoon, explained that his participation in 'Love War' was confirmed earlier this year.
He detailed the reasons for his 'Knowing Bros' hiatus, stating, "'Knowing Bros' is a program I'm very grateful for. However, with frequent overseas schedules, it became difficult to adjust my filming schedule every Thursday." He added that he felt he couldn't fully concentrate during filming, which he believed was unprofessional towards guests and viewers.
"I couldn't tolerate myself not being able to focus, so I decided to take a temporary break to return to my former self," Kim Heechul explained. He acknowledged, "Since I was resting from 'Knowing Bros', I thought I might get criticized for doing this ('Love War')." However, he added that the 'Knowing Bros' production team has been supportive, and Kim Shinyoung is currently filling his spot well.
'Love War' is a dating reality show where the three MCs listen to the stories of couples experiencing conflict and offer their insights. The program premiered on June 23 at 8:50 PM KST on JTBC and is also available on Disney+.
