Mnet launches idol beauty channel 'YEONJI GONJI' with Jeon Somi and Jonathan leading the lineup

Mnet is rolling out a new content channel built entirely around K-pop idols' beauty routines and everyday lifestyles.

On June 22, Mnet Plus announced that its K-beauty and lifestyle channel 'YEONJI GONJI : YZKZ' (hereafter 'YEONJI GONJI') will open on July 6. Pitched as a beauty-and-lifestyle project made together with K-pop idols, the channel is designed to let fans get a closer, more casual look at the stars' real beauty routines and daily lives.

'YEONJI GONJI' will run five programs in total, spanning everything from a talk show to idol variety to fan-participation pictorial content:

• 'TWIN MIRROR SHOW' is a makeup talk show where the host follows along with a guest's self-makeup while the two swap beauty tastes and everyday stories — sitting face to face like mirror images and building up their sync as they go. Singer Jeon Somi joins as MC.
• 'Check-in! Idol Bingo' is a variety format that introduces each team's lifestyle through a bingo game played with the "must-have" items in their suitcases, as artists take on missions and compete to protect their essentials. Broadcaster Jonathan hosts.
• 'COMEBACK LOOK' offers a first, unedited look at idols' comeback makeup, following the full backstage process along with comeback behind-the-scenes stories.
• '10min Routine' is a tutorial that breaks idols' real self-care routines down into something anyone can follow in ten minutes.
• 'FANS' CHOICE FACE' is fan-participation content that brings fans' dream pictorials of their favorite artists to life, with fans involved from picking the concept all the way to the shoot cue sheet.

"Idols' beauty routines and lifestyles have always been a steady point of interest for so many fans, so we designed this to bring all of that closer and make it feel more familiar," the production team said. "We hope it becomes a playground-like channel and program where everyone can have fun and connect."

'YEONJI GONJI' kicks off with the first episode of 'TWIN MIRROR SHOW' on July 6 at 5 PM KST via Mnet Plus. The rest of the programs will roll out one after another, and Mnet will air a weekly roundup on TV every Thursday at 7:50 PM, starting July 9.
