Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed his appreciation for K-pop and Korean culture during his appearance on the tvN variety program 'Yoo Quiz on the Block,' saying he enjoys singer Hwa Sa and naming the song “Golden” as his top favorite.
The episode, broadcast on June 10th, featured Huang, founder of Nvidia and one of the most influential figures in the global artificial intelligence industry, as he discussed his views on technology, culture, and Korea.
During the interview, Huang and host Yoo Jae Suk discussed how he preferred to be addressed. Huang requested that his name be used without honorifics. In a light-hearted exchange, he also called Yoo “MC Champion,” adding a humorous tone to the conversation.
Huang also spoke about his interest in music, highlighting the soundtrack “Golden” from the animated project 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' He described it as a song that many people would enjoy and selected it as his number one pick.
He also said he is a fan of singer Hwa Sa, noting that he enjoys several of her songs, including “Good Goodbye” and “So Cute.” He praised her performance skills, saying she is both a strong vocalist and a talented dancer.
However, Huang emphasized that “Golden” remains his top choice overall. He described the song as culturally significant, saying it reflects the global spread of Korean culture and the energy of younger creators. He also pointed to the growing international influence of Korean cultural industries, including K-pop, K-beauty, and K-food such as K-chicken.
Huang, who has led Nvidia’s transformation into a central company in the era of generative AI, has recently strengthened ties with South Korea through meetings with local tech leaders and public engagements that highlight his growing familiarity with Korean culture.
