Tablo of Epik High is expanding his creative reach by stepping into film translation and subtitling.
Tablo recently revealed via social media that he participated in the Korean translation and subtitle work for the upcoming film ‘Nirvanna, The Band, The Show, The Movie.’ The film is being distributed in Korea by YouTuber BDNS and Greennarae Media.
‘Nirvanna, The Band, The Show, The Movie’ marks Tablo’s debut as a film translator. The project is based on the web and television series of the same name co-created by Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol. It follows a band that comes up with eccentric plans in hopes of getting invited to perform, presented in a mockumentary format.
As a genre that relies heavily on witty dialogue and fast-paced humor, anticipation is building over how Tablo’s signature wordplay and sharp sense of humor will be reflected in the Korean subtitles.
Tablo’s passion for film has also been widely recognized through his annual Academy Awards predictions. Earlier this year, he achieved a 62.5% accuracy rate, earning praise from fans for his sharp analytical insight.
‘Nirvanna, The Band, The Show, The Movie’ is scheduled to premiere in Korea on May 20.
