Jung Yoo Mi, Park Seo Joon, and Choi Woo Shik embrace chaos and chemistry in ‘Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition’

Actors Jung Yoo Mi, Park Seo Joon, and Choi Woo Shik experienced the true charm of a “limited” trip under strict conditions.

In the May 3 broadcast of 'Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition', the trio kicked off a budget-friendly journey filled with hilarious struggles, from sharing the cost of a single bottle of water to openly discussing their lack of underwear, ultimately showcasing their deep, real-life friendship chemistry.

The episode recorded strong ratings, with an average of 4.2% and a peak of 6.4% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and a nationwide average of 3.7% with a peak of 5.7%.

As with previous installments of the ‘Youth Over Flowers’ series, the cast was once again “kidnapped” into the trip, this time through an elaborate setup by producer Na Young Seok. To deceive the seasoned variety veterans, the production team even staged a live broadcast scenario. Completely unsuspecting, the three actors were stunned upon seeing a banner that read, “We support Jung Yoo Mi, Park Seo Jun, and Choi Woo Shik’s journey. Safe departure and safe return.”

Choi Woo Shik reacted in disbelief, asking, “From when was this all planned?” while Jung Yoo Mi admitted, “I didn’t know he could be this scary.” Park Seo Joon, however, impressed everyone by revealing that he had packed essentials in advance, guided by his veteran instincts.

The trio then began their “limited” journey under unique rules: traveling to a different city or county each day, surviving on a daily budget of 100,000 KRW (about $75), no mobile phone usage, and receiving daily morning benefits.

After spending nearly half their budget on KTX train tickets, they were hit with heavy snowfall, making the situation even tougher. Acting as treasurer, Park Seo Jun insisted on finding the cheapest options and successfully secured a great accommodation after thorough searching. The group even attempted to negotiate lodging prices, adding to the comedic moments.

With their budget quickly running low, the trio gave up on their original food plans and instead found a local eatery, enjoying a satisfying meal at a great value. In a humorous twist, the restaurant owner recognized producer Na Young Seok rather than the actors and gifted them kimbap, prompting laughter as he joked, “Save it.”

Despite the cheerful atmosphere, Choi Woo Shik continued to worry about his lack of clean underwear, revealing, “I was told not to wash my hair after a perm, so I haven’t showered for two days. I can’t wear the same underwear until tomorrow.” As the situation escalated to the point where he might not be able to buy new ones, he exclaimed, “I’m going to get sick like this!”—further highlighting the trio’s candid and comedic friendship.

After visiting Daegu, the group chose Namwon as their next destination. Park Seo Jon hinted at using a personal connection to secure accommodation there, raising curiosity over whether they can continue their journey without additional expenses.
